Hi everyone, after a lot of thought, it's time I said goodbye to my old Rover.
The car is a tax exempt 1972 3500S in Davos White. Of course, being an 'S' it has a black vinyl roof and a four speed manual gearbox.
I've owned the car since September 2008 - it had just been MoT'd after being off the road since 1989. In my ownership I've done a few things to it which include:
New rear springs and shock absorbers
New stainless rear silencer
Complete Sundym glass conversion
Halogen headlamp conversion (outers only. Inners still sealed beam)
Complete rebush and rebuild on both carburettors using S.U parts
Fitted correct Lucas fog lamps (missing when I bought car)
Fitted SD1 Vitesse alloy wheels with correct SD1 studs and nuts
And fitted two new front tyres last year.
I also have new Superflex lower front arm and shock absorber bushes which have yet to be fitted. I do have receipts for any new parts I've bought.
The car is MoT'd until April 26th 2013, and taxed until the end of August 2013.
This car could really benefit with having a new carpet set as the front carpets are non existant. The seats on the other hand are nice. I have fitted a good pair of leather seats in the front as originals were split, and the rears are still the original black leatherette. The fronts still retain their rare E.T style headrests.
Other than that, it's a nice condition 2 car. It never fails to turn heads, and I'm always getting people talking to me about it. It can still perform when the need arises too ;o)
Here is a link to some photos. I have no pics of under the bonnet or interior yet, but plan on getting those this week. The pics of the Rover outside the local town hall are from last May when it was being filmed. Since then it has done a handful of local miles, and has been kept under cover.
